What does an office really cost?

The base rent excluding VAT and service charges, the building’s service charges (maintenance, heating, security), any taxes the landlord recharges under the lease, VAT if the lease is subject to it, and then insurance, energy and office cleaning.

Is VAT charged on office rent in France?

Often, when the landlord has opted to charge VAT. The lease will say so. A business that recovers VAT can then reason in figures excluding VAT.
